Battle of Linyuguan is a part of the Goguryeo-Sui Wars.

In 597, Emperor Wen of Sui proked Goguryeo to show off the strength of his empire. King Yeongyang indignanted. Gang Yi-sik suggested his king to attack Sui dynasty. King Yeongyang accepted and led 10,000 Mohe army himself and let the Khitans to attack Shandong Peninsula.

He also gave 50,000 cavalries to General Kang Yi-Sik to attack the Linyuguan. Emperor Wen of Sui collected 300,000 armies to defend. He gave 200,000 armies to Yang langliang who is the fourth son of Emperor Wen and 100,000 navies to Zhou Luohou. However the Sui navy was defeated easily. In June, the Sui army started to retreat and the Goguryeo cavalries exterminated them.
